Christmas Eve at Hardass

9am Christmas Eve crew after the WOD

Catching a WOD at Hardass Fitness/CrossFit Hawaii was high on my must-do list while I was home for the holidays.  The last time I was here, around Labor Day, they were just moving into their new location.  Everything is set up now and the construction is done!

I stopped by for the 9am class on Christmas Eve to do the final WOD from the 2011 CrossFit Games: The End.  We had the option to row 20 calories or do a 400m run.  Also since we did not have enough sleds, the sled pull at the end was replaced with 10 rope climbs.

The End aka "The Christmas Games": 3min AMRAP, 1min rest, 6min AMRAP, 2min rest, For Time:
  • 20 calorie Row (or 400m run)
  • 30 Wall Ball Shots 20# to 10'
  • 20 Toes to Bar
  • 30 Box Jumps 24"
  • 20 KB SDHP 3 pood
  • 30 Burpees
  • 20 Shoulder-to-Overhead 135#
  • 10 Rope Climbs
Three months later, and I still really suck at rope climbs.  I spent probably 1/3 of the time on my inefficient rope climbs.  Everyone here is so good at them!  Something to work on this year.

Some pictures:
2. 10am warmup action... and a new banner and a sweet constructed second floor in the background.

3. 10am warming up.

4. Got to meet Todd, one of the other trainers!

5.  So happy to see them!  My partner for the 31 Heroes WOD Heather and her husband, Tony!

6. Fully constructed Keiki area.

7. Equipped with toys and a TV.

The extra longgg workout was just what I needed to start my holiday/home eating spree.  It was also really great to catch up with friends and meet some new people, like one of the trainers, Todd.  Unfortunately, I did not get to see everyone I hoped to run into that day.  I also missed Kimo and Diane :(.  Next time!  Looks like I'll be home soon!
